Vessels are intentionally fragile

GRAIN ROT’s Vessels are wooden bodies animated by Sparks. They splinter under heavy impact, ignite from fire and explosions, and collapse when Hull Integrity reaches zero. The fragility is a design choice — it keeps every descent tense.

Three resources you constantly manage

  • Hull Integrity — your health pool. Repairs happen only at the Outpost.
  • Stamina — controls sprinting, jumping, kicking and swinging heavy tools.
  • Rot — the hidden timer that turns later layers against you.

Where Vessels break most often

  • Industrial heater explosions (hesitate and you ignite).
  • Corrupted grabs in narrow corridors.
  • Ally dropkicks at the wrong moment.
  • Fire hazards near the elevator entry.

Surviving longer

  • Sprint for at least two seconds before melee to trigger a dropkick instead of a punch.
  • Avoid stacking broken furniture near fire sources.
  • Stay near a Sparked teammate if your hull is low — their presence can save you from a follow-up hit.

Vessel classes

The default class is Builder, focused on resource gathering and Outpost repair. Higher progression unlocks additional classes with unique combat and traversal abilities. Exact unlocks per tier are 待确认 against the official 1.0 patch notes.

When your Vessel breaks

You do not die. Your Spark escapes and can hijack another body. Read the Living Spark Mechanic page for full hijack and energy rules.
